Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.
She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her- could destroy them all.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team up with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may loose everything-even what they cherish most-to ensure the survival of their friends...and mankind.
War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.
Review:
Okay, Oh My Gosh, My mind is still doing flips. I thought this was such a great book. I'm sad to see the series end though. This was a series that I think could go on and on.
Opposition starts off right where Origin leaves off. Daemon, Dawson, and Dee have left with the Luxen that have invaded Earth. Katy can't let herself believe that they won't come back, even though Luc and Archer believe that they are lost to them forever. Beth starts getting really bad morning sickness so Archer and Katy go out to get her some prenatal vitamins and other medications. That's when everything hits the fan. The action starts at that moment and doesn't slow until the end of the book. Katy and Daemon sure have gotten themselves in a pickle this time.
Katy is absolutely fierce in the final installment of the Lux series. She has grown, not only in character but also in power, so much over the previous books and it shows. Even though she is strong, brave, fierce and loyal she suffers a lot of emotional damage throughout this book and I felt for her.
Daemon in this book is still well, Daemon. I've said this more than once and I'm going to say this again: Daemon Black is even more irresistible in this book. He still has his overly protective side but he is also even more open about his feelings for Katy. He makes it widely know that he loves his Kitten and will burn the world down to protect her.
Dee changes for a while in this installment, more so than she did in Onyx and Opal. I really can't say too awful much without spoiling the story, but I will say that it'll have you thinking: ''What the crap man" and "Oh my gosh, NO!".
Dawson and Beth we really don't get to see a whole lot of them, but I kinda felt sympathy for them. Dawson just got Beth back and then he kind of looses her again for a little while. He has to act like she has never existed but you can tell being away from her is killing him. And Beth, the poor thing, is having a hard time during her pregnancy. She is constantly sick and tired all the time. And it is even harder for her being away from Dawson.
We all knew that Luc was kind of like a teenage mafia leader but some of the things he is able to pull off are out of this world. In Opposition we get to learn a little bit about his background. Some of the things you learn will surprise you.
Archer grows into an even more wonderful character. He shows emotion in this book and he's actually pretty funny. I love the fact that everyone gets upset when he gets all up in their heads. I mean I would too but some of the banter that passes between him and the others is hilarious.
The final book in the Lux series will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. It's packed full of action, romance, comedy, suspense, desperation, twists, turns, highs and lows. If you haven't read any of the books in the series before Opposition I suggest reading those first.
Here's a look back at a few of my favorite Daemon and Katy moments.
