The Friday 56 and Book Beginnings #3

Sorry this is a day late. In all the hectic craziness that's going on with me right now, I forgot to post this yesterday. Once again sorry but here you go.

The Rules:

* Grab a book, any book
* Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that's OK)
* Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it)
* Post it
* Add your (url) for the post, not your blog, in the Linky
* It's that simple
The Friday 56 is a meme hosted by Freda's Voice where every Friday you pick the book you're reading, a book off your shelves, or just a random book at the store, in other words any book that you want, and turn to page 56 and find a sentence or two that stands out to you. Put the sentence or sentences in a post and include the author and title, post it and then add your url into the Linky on Freda's Voice and there you go.

This snippet came from 56.4% on my tablet

Crouched on the cold forest floor, pine needles pressing into my palms, blood smeared over my bare knees, I couldn't remember how long I'd been human.

Book Beginnings is a weekly meme hosted by Rose City Reader where you take the first few sentences from the first page of the book you are reading along with your initial thoughts on the sentence or sentences, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Remember to include the title of the book and the author's name. And don't forget to link up.

This is the story of a boy who used to be a wolf and a girl who was becoming one.

Just a few months ago, it was Sam who was the mythical creature. His was the disease we couldn't cure. His was the good-bye that meant the most. He had the body that was a mystery, too strange and wonderful and terrifying to comprehend.

Thoughts:
 If this was a synopsis it would draw me in instantly. This kind of stuff is right up my alley. The speaker kind of seems sad and wistful, in awe and scared.
