Top Ten Tuesday #17

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks topic is Top Ten Books Every ______ Should Read. I've decided to go with Top Ten Books Every Kid Should Read. I've gone with this topic because both of my boys have decided to participate in the Reading Fair at their school (such a proud mama), and there are so many books out there to choose from that my youngest is having a hard time picking out one for his project.

Top Ten Books Every Kid Should Read

Green Eggs and Ham by: Dr. Seuss

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by: Laura Joffe Numeroff

Charlotte's Web  by: E. B. White

The Borrowers by: Mary Norton

James and the Giant Peach by: Roald Dahl

The Boxcar Children by: Gertrude Chandler Warner

Sideways Stories From Wayside School by: Louis Sachar

The Swiss Family Robinson by: Johann David Wyss

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by: Dr Seuss

Oh, the Places You'll Go! by: Dr. Seuss

So my little one finally decided to go with Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, which I think will be a good to book to go with since he is only in kindergarten and it's a classic children's book.

So what was your topic this week and what books did you go with?

  1. I LOVE your list! So many good memories from reading these books- I'm planning on getting Sideways Stories from Wayside High to read to my niece (the Hubs and I don't have kids, but thankfully I have a bunch of book loving nieces and nephews to share my love of reading with- two of my older nieces are doing Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon with me on the 23rd). Hope your boys have fun at the book fair!

    1. Thanks Kate, and thank you for stopping by. I'll put a post up with pictures of their projects and how everything went after the reading fair is over. This is the first time their school has participated in it and I think its a good thing, each kid has to do a project and write a review on their chosen book. So we may get a whole new generation of book reviewers and bloggers!
