This weeks question:
How do you write your reviews?

Answer:

I take forever to write a review because I'm so picky about every little thing and critical over everything I write . When I start reading a book I'll get the beginnings of the review started by going ahead a placing the cover picture and typing up the synopsis. Then after I finish the book I'll try to start the actual review but a good bit of the time I have to wait a day to get all my thoughts together. Once I do start writing everything down I'll read and re-read everything to make sure it makes since and I'm not rambling and no typos although I'm sure I miss a few. And a lot of times it will take me even longer to write a review because of other things needing my attention like my kids, garden and youth group activities and fundraisers. I'll try to write my reviews quickly but my picky behavior and other responsibilities make it difficult. I'd stay up late at night to write them but by the time I get the boys in the bed I'm totaled lol. I wish I could say that I had this huge process but I don't.

So, what about you, how do you write your reviews?

This weeks question:

How do you organize your books? Either at home on your bookshelves, or on your reading-device, or your bookish platform like Goodreads, Leafmarks or Booklikes.

On my bookshelves at home everything is super organized. All my different series and trilogies are placed together in order, all of my inspirational books are on the same shelf, and all of my stand alone's are placed together on the same shelf level. Now, on Goodreads, Kindle, and Overdrive everything is an absolute mess, with nothing organized. Whatever order they are found, downloaded, borrowed or bought is the order they stay in.  I've got 4 maybe 5 shelves on my Goodreads and 3 of them are the ones that I originally started with.

So how do you organize your books?

This weeks question:

How do you decide what books to read?

There are a few factors on how I decide what books to read. The first is a cover that catches my eye. I love pretty book covers, and when at the library or the store, that's the first thing I look for. The next thing I'll do is read the synopsis or blurb and it has to sound interesting and catch my attention. I'll also read something by an author if I've read a previous book of theirs and enjoyed it. Recommendations and reviews help decide my reads list too. If I see a bunch of my fellow blogger friends or friends from Goodreads raving about a book then I'm more likely to give it a try. And finally, I do have the tendency to try and read books that are going to be made into a movie.

So how do you choose the books that you read? Do we have any of the same techniques of choosing books in common?

This weeks question:

How do you cure a book hangover/ blogging slump/ reading slump?

Book hangover:
I'll wait a day or two before starting the review or another book, and I'll re-read my favorite parts and quotes and stay in that world a little longer.

Blogging slump:
So far I've not had a blogging slump, since I just started in January but I try not to let it feel like a job. Blogging is something that is fun for me and I don't want it to feel like work so if things start to get a little tedious then I'll stop posting a meme or two for about two weeks and take time slow down a bit then I'll start back to my routine.

Reading slump:
I've experienced a few of these before and I don't like them lol. If I start to get into a mode where I don't feel like reading then I know it's time to take a break and focus some of my excess time into something else. I never want to get to the point where I never want to read again.

What do you do to cure a book hangover/ blogging slump/ reading slump?

This weeks question:

How did you come up with your blog title and address? Does it have a special meaning for you? -Suggested by The Paperback Princess.

Answer:

When I first decided to start my blog I spent almost a week looking at the best place for me and ways to start it, along with coming up with a blog title that suited me and my personality. I live in the Appalachian Mountains, and aside from my book and reading obsession, my favorite things to do are spending time out in my huge and beautiful ''back yard'' fishing, hunting, hiking, and riding my 4-wheeler. I absolutely love my mountains and like just about every other girl, I love diamonds, jewels, and rhinestones of all kinds. I set and tried almost every combination of Mountain and jewel names until I found the one that stood out to me. I would say that Mountain Rhinestones has special meaning because it describes parts of me.

What about your blog title, how did you come up with it and does it hold any special meaning for you. If you don't have a blog, what name would you choose and why if you started one?

You can choose which ever way is more convenient for you when following Mountain Rhinestones.

This weeks question:
Here is $100,000. Buy something. Anything at all! What would be the first thing you would choose, and why?

Answer:
Well If I was being a smart and responsible person then I would take like $10,000 to $15,000 and split it between all the bills and invest a bunch of it. But let's be honest, I could wait until last to do all of that. I think I would find the biggest bookstore and go on a shopping spree. I would buy as many books as I could possibly fit in my Jeep. Then go buy bookshelves to hold them all, floor to ceiling, wall to wall bookshelves for every room. If it was a non book related thing I think I would take my kids on the vacation of their choice for a couple of weeks. I'd let them pick the location, activities, and food choices.

What about you, what would the first thing you would buy if you had $100,000?

This weeks question is: "Have you ever read a book you thought you'd hate but loved? Or vice versa?"

That's kind of a difficult question for me to answer. Mainly because I wind up loving almost every book I read, and I don't like to say that I ''hate'' a book. Before I make any judgement on a book I'll read it and give it a fair chance. Most books I'll read more than once, but I wasn't able to do that with Twilight. I had seen where everyone was flipping out about what a good book series it was, so I thought I would read it and went out and bought the whole series. I finished the books but it took me a lot longer than normal. I'm not saying that the books were horrible but they just weren't my cup of tea.

What about you? Do we have the same book in common or do you have a different opinion about the book I chose?

I put these three down because I'll let you decide how you would like to follow my blog, whatever is more convenient for you.

This weeks question:
Have you ever had a reoccurring dream? If so, what was it?

My Answer:

Yes, I had this dream or nightmare probably 4 times as a kid. When I was little I was obsessed with the movie ''The Wizard of Oz'' and watched it at least once a day. Well my dream/nightmare starts off with me walking up the hill close to my house and I'm dressed like Dorothy. I pass by a house that a friend used to live in until the family moved and the Wicked Witch is on the roof throwing rotten apples at me, just like what happens to Dorothy in the movie. The Wicked Witch has the flying monkeys with her and they are all jumping up and down, pointing at me, as I keeping getting hit with the apples, trying hard to escape. No matter how hard I run, I'm not getting anywhere. I can't move a single inch. Then the house bursts into flames and the Wicked Witch is just in front of my face. She gives me the most evil looking grin with the nastiest teeth in her mouth. They are all sharpened into jagged points and black with rot. That's usually the spot where I would wake up. I've not been able to watch the movie since then, which is sad because it really is a good movie.

Do you have any reoccurring dreams? If so, what are they?

Feature and Follow #1

Question of the week:
Have you ever been to BEA, if so what was your favorite experience there?

Answer:
No, I've never been to anything like that. I think I would love it though if ever presented with the opportunity to go. I love meeting people who are just as much into books and reading as I am.

I put these three all on here because it doesn't matter to me how you follow my blog, you can use your own preferences in making the decision.
